CD cover
i have experimented with using different pictures for my cd cover and also constructed an inside left and right picture. I have changed the front cover as my first front cover i found that it was not high quality compared to the rest of the album cover. I also felt that the colours didnt match with each other, there was not a consistent flow of colours.
Here is my new front cover. The artist is not making eye contact witht he camera. This would normally break a convention of cd covers, however i recognise that this creates a desirable affect of suspence. As i previously analysed when looking at rihanna's 'Loud' album. I have also enhanced the colour at the top right to ensure the title can be easily read.
This is my extra panel. I have changed this picture as the one that was origionally my extra panel (middle cover) is now the front cover. I wanted my cd cover to flow but i didnt want to use the same pictures to many times. I ahve changed the colour contrast to mix with the overall colours. I htink the colours are warm and inviting perfect for my genre which is romantic. I have choosen a close up picture because this is a picture of my artist in her personal space.
Here is my back cover. Again i have changed the colours to match the rest of my album. I think that the colours matching creates a warmer album. I have however used a film grain effect on the back cover to draw attention to the tracks and not just the picture.
Here is my 2 inside pictures, i want them to stnad side by side in the pack. The image is the same mirrored i would like the cd to be in the middle of the digi pack and these 2 pictures on the outside.

This was another attempt i made. I found this picture worked well however the quality was to blury for me to use.

Ancillary
After researching media magazine adverts of album covers i wanted to adjust mine to make it look more like an advert. I thought the one previous looked to much like a picture.
Here is my final ancillary, i had to change the album cover to match my music video more thereofrei had to change it on my ancillary aswel.

Here i have added a fade into the bottom. I think the photo flows better this way. This is similar to how the album cover is shown in the advert that i analysed of Gwen Stefani.

research of magazine album adverts.
Here is a picture of Gwen Stefani's album magazine advert. The first thing i noticed was that the main picture is taken from the album picture and cropped slightly. This works well as the colours and style match the album artwork. The texture is a paint type texture and enhances the colours. I also think that the texture is made to look make believe along with the crown and the chair, as its obvious than Gwen is not the queen. The font is very significant in that it is particular to the artist. and uses the same theme throughout. The colour of the writing matches the colour of the chair in which Gwen Sefani is sitting in. Also the border around the picture is the same colour. This draws the image in.
The colours also signify royalty as do the crown and stick she is holding. This is to promote the artist as a royal performance. The red lipstick she is wearing signifies a dominant womanly person. Here is Ellie Goldings album cover and album advert. As you can see the album cover is the main image on the advert. This is the same as gwen stefani's therefore a conventional theme. The album is called "lights" and the title has a lumounus effect. This is a direct link to the title. The glittery effect exhaugerates the title. This also gives a magical apeal to the picture enhancing the hair and drawing attention to the main image. The picture also has black fade down towards the bottom of the picture. This is simular to Gwen Stefani's album advert above however this one is black not white. This is also another conventional code of album adverts. The smaller text at the bottom is the details of the promotion of the album, from brand names such as Q magazine. This is essential on an advert as it attracts the reader to buy the album.

Ancillary 2 magazine advert of album
I have added some changes, I have made "Jamilla" bigger to seperate it from the quite as its the artists name. I have also made the quite smaller and added a name of a magazine underneath "NME"
here are my templates of a magazine album advert. I wanted to keep my magazine advert simple but affctive. I have chosen a dark lighting to emphasize the light background. I placed the artist in an uplifting position to show a 'breakthrough' in music. The lightint emphasizes this. I decided that the cd cover on the picture didnt work as it looked out of place, a simple quite and name i found more effective.
Here is my first attempt, the lighting is low to create an impact of breaking free. Im not sure i like the CD cover as it doesnt match with the other tones.
